“How do I stop carrying everything that has ever happened to me?”— Blythe Baird
If I could go in-depth with what life has been like for the past 8 months, I don't think you would truly believe me. It's odd putting this out there as I haven't really sat down and typed (or written) any of my thoughts or feelings on what has been going on. The ups have been majorly rewarding, however, the downs have been absolutely debilitating and have made me analyze my life like I've never done before. I almost feel like I've molded into this shell of a different person, someone I honestly don't know, and I am not sure when I'll go back to who I really was just 3 months ago. Maybe I never will? If you follow me on other social media platforms you'll know what's been going on, so I'm not going to go into detail with what exactly has been going on but just know that I'm trying to work through all of it and come out on the other side a lot stronger than I was before. I will say though, turning 30 is not what I thought it would be.
A weird transition, I know, but to try and get back some of what I lost.. I figured I'd return to something I know and love - this blog. So let's start out slow with a Monday Link-Up and a few things that have caught my attention lately. I have a lot of time on my hands right now, so you'll hopefully hear from me more often with posts like this. Enjoy!
MUSIC
- I love, love, LOVE covers of songs that you come across from the original artist, especially when the cover is even better than the original. If you didn't already know, Pink has some amazing fans that have unique and insane talent so it was only a matter of time before she found Allie Sherlock perform this gorgeous "Hurts To Be Human" rendition online. I've listened to it about 10 times already and have gone down a rabbit hole of listening to all of her other covers that she does while street performing in Cork, Ireland. Go listen! You will not be disappointed.
- "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi is a huge hit over in the U.K. and I'm so happy with the fact that it's slowly growing speed here in the States. He just announced that it's in the top 100 in his IG Stories (which are hilarious by the way) and it only keeps going up. It's heartbreaking, soulful and filled with passion. -swoon-
- Joy Williams talent and voice just hits me differently. The ache and longing in most of her new songs reaches in and yanks out my heart in one swift motion. I put myself through this every time I listen to "The Trouble With Wanting", especially with this live performance version. If you need a masterpiece to cry to, this would be it.
SHOPPING
- This is entirely biased, however, I have a strong sense to appreciate anything that a fellow Lisa can create. We are few and far between! There are a couple well-known Lisa's out there and I am currently appreciating both of them as they are creating fantastic products. PRO Makeup Artist Lisa Eldridge just came out with her own line of lipsticks and they're so popular that they've been sold out for weeks! Plush red velvet lipsticks that look so luxe, I do not mind the price tag - an individual tube goes up to $30 USD - as I believe it will last a long time. Here's hoping they all get restocked soon.
- Is it really a surprise that Lisa Frank had to be included in this link-up? Especially during this resurgence of her products on the market? All of this has my 9-year-old self giddy with excitement but to be honest, this could also just be my 30-year-old self as well! She's currently selling notebooks at Target and Wal-Mart. Did anyone else obviously go to their local Target the minute they found out they were available? No, just me? Oh well, grab yours today before they also sell out!
- Because I've been so stressed and anxious lately, I wanted to find something that would help calm my nerves, would be easy to use and that would give me immediate results. Luckily I found just the thing! Nothing But Hemp just opened up a block away from my apartment and they sell CBD products, organic hemp oil and legal hemp flowers. The store was super clean and the representative was knowledgeable and approachable, so I felt comfortable going in and asking the right questions. I left the store with this great hybrid called "Chardonnay" and it is made to help you focus and be creative, which it had done the few times I've smoked it. They have several locations around the MN, however, I highly recommend going to the one in St. Paul.

- I'm all about creating a space that flows well and can create harmony, mostly because life for me right now is chaotic. If a small part of my life can be cohesive, I'll take it! This article from The Coveteur talks all about how to "Feng Shui" your vanity and is a great read. Super easy to do and lays it out simply for first-time users.
- I go to TheEveryGirl now and then to read their articles on various aspects of career, personal motivation, fashion, beauty and so much more. I luckily came across this one article right after my position ended and it truly helped me get through that first week. It's so comforting to know that you're not alone and that a lot of people have gone through a similar situation, but most importantly, they've kept going afterwards.
- Oh my god, LOOK! Another Lisa who is successful! I see your signs universe, and I hope this can happen to me soon.

Play at romance, we slow dance
In the living room, but all that a stranger would see
Is one girl swaying alone
Stroking her cheek
I have noticed myself pulling and pulling back from posting on here. I don't even know where the passion has gone for Mostly Lisa, to be honest. Life has taken me in so many different directions and paths for the past seven months that the passion, along with the motivation, within me has been truly just spread too thin. My brain can't handle so much dedication at once! For the most part, I have really enjoyed having other things to be creative and interested in. The new career I am in has given me a lot, however, there are times where I really want to have the motivation back to keep this blog up. This all probably sounds like a broken record for the people who have stuck with me these past seven years, but you all know that this is how I process different things. So I've come to a decision that I'll pause the repetitiveness and come back here and there, with less pressure on myself to constantly have to update. When I do come back, hopefully the content will be better than if I was updating every single day or week. Please enjoy these links that I've rounded up for the month of February!

- This Lorde song has been stuck in my head for the past month. What a beautiful, melodic song to make you feel so many different emotions. I finally caved in and am going to see her next month at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul! Hopefully this song will be just as gorgeous in person.
- Speaking of concerts, I am also seeing Kate Nash for the first time in the next couple months. Her new album is fire.
- Dua Lipa - I'll see you in June!
SHOPPING
- Spring is just around the corner and Eloquii is killing it with their new arrivals. These Luna Printed Cylinder Heels are unexpectedly a must for me.
- Oh hey, it's me in t-shirt form!
- A current obsession of mine? Embroidered faux leather jackets - they are amazing. Tough and feminine, the perfect duo.
- With spring and summer arriving very soon, I am on the hunt for a good pair of prescription sunglasses. I've had no luck finding a pair in my price range but then I instantly remembered BonLook and their amazing pricing. This pair may be just what the eye doctor ordered.

- If you haven't seen 'Annilihation', do not read this article. My long-time friend, Lindsey Romain, is a fantastic journalist and wrote this spectacular piece on Natalie Portman and the incredibly beautiful movie she is now in. Natalie brings her all in this masterpiece and I highly recommend that everyone goes to see it in the cinema.
- I also thoroughly enjoyed this article about a relatively unknown horror show called 'Channel Zero' on SyFy. It is not a show that I would have ever imagined myself enjoying, however once it sinks its teeth into you - you are hooked. If you have ever read a Creepypasta story, this show is for you. It's incredibly well made and builds so well on the suspense. The last episode for this season literally made my skin crawl.
- These street style looks from NYFW are INSPIRING.
- I enjoy reading my horoscope for the year - this is what mine says for 2018.

- So you're all watching This Is Us, right? Go ahead and watch this fanvid and be ready to cry your eyes out. It is the perfect roundup of everything that has happened up to the last episode. It's insanely beautiful.
- This Instagram feed by Luke Abrahams is the perfect travel inspiration for the England area.
- Kristen Wiig x James Corden trying to duet 'Hallelujah' is definitely greatest thing to make me laugh in awhile.
- All the stunning F/W '18 collections!

- If you're a fan of Stranger Things on Netflix, then you are going to absolutely love this James Corden skit that Joe Keery (Steve) & Ben Schwartz (Jean-Ralphio from Parks & Rec) did together. There is a big fan theory that Steve is Jean-Ralphio's father, especially since both shows took place in Indiana and the actors oddly look like one another! Love it, and just how much fun these two actors made this.
- Since velvet booties are one of the BIG trends for fall this year, I have been on the hunt to try to find a pair that would be just right for me. While I've come across a few, these Missguided pointed toe ankle boots might just be the special ones.
- I can't get this song out of my head! It's just so uplifting and the chorus is something to belt your heart to.
- Are you following me along Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr yet? I've been sharing all my favorite looks from the Fashion Weeks in New York, London & Milan - Paris is still coming up. There have been some beautiful looks for Spring 2017 RTW.
- John Boyega on the cover for British GQ October... I just, I just can't!
- How cute is this long-sleeve crepe dress from the Who What Wear collection at Target? Obsessed.
- Also obsessed with this floral medallion necklace from J.Crew. Why you gotta be $128?!
- If you love Disney and Halloween, make sure to check out Cakeworthy's new Halloween collection for 2017! They have some of the cutest flannels, shirts, pins and stickers this year.
- A velvet Chesterfield sofa for my imaginary apartment? Why yes, I would love that.
- These doorknobs are so beautiful - definitely give off a vintage vibe.
- I attended this fashion show last Sunday as part of Fashion Week MN and it was so beautiful. The I AM Inspired Fall 2016 collections were definitely something to kick start inspiration for the season.
- LUSH finally released all of their Halloween 2016 items, and I am loving all of them! Lord of Misrule will be mine again!!!

- I am all about sweet when it comes to alcohol, so this Fireworks Pina Colada from Home Sweet Jones looks like it would hit just the spot!
- Shots, shots, shots! Spiked Jell-o Shots, easy and simple to make, plus absolutely adorable.
- They say that if you make this drink for guests, you'll have to make several pitchers because it is that good! Sign me up, Blueberry Strawberry Mojito by Well Plated.
- A Frozen Boozy Bomp Pop? 3 different types of vodka, lime juice, sugar and water. WOW!
- I found this drink through Pinterest, and thought it was so adorable! The hint of coconut on the rim of the glass just ties everything in together. It's called a Blueberry Coconut Sparkler, and you'll for sure be sparkling if you have more than one of them.
- This drink from Tasty Trials mixes watermelon and blueberry vodka in a delicious combination! The Watermelon-Blueberry Cooler is super simple, but very refreshing.
- For those of you who do not drink, or just don't want to have every drink contain alcohol, this Patriotic Punch is just the ticket. Blogger, Between Naps on the Porch, came up with this tasty drink that features cranberry juice, a blue sports drink and 7-Up!
- For something extra kid-friendly, this layered drink by The Sisters Cafe, will be fun to make with the kiddos while you're waiting for the food to be cooked.
- I love the inspiration behind this Drink & Dish drink, they were motivated by their favorite fireworks they see every year, and the decorations included. Best part? The rim of the class is covered pop rocks, so you'll have an extra magical celebration.
What are your plans for the Fourth? Have any favorite themed drinks? Let me know, and be safe tonight!

Hello Monday! First off, I hope you all had a lovely weekend filled with good food, friends and family and tons of candy of your choosing. I had a jam-packed weekend that started on Friday, and did not stop until last night. I celebrated a friend turning the big 3-0, got to meet another friend's baby for the first time, and then celebrated Easter with my entire family. I've never had such a busy weekend where there were things back-to-back and frankly, it is A LOT. As much as it is so nice to be invited to things, I'm now ready for everything to go back to normal, So to start the week off right, here are some fun things that I've come across over the past week or so. Enjoy!
- Does anyone else watch Brooklyn Nine Nine? I have been binge watching Season 2, and now 3, and it's SO FUNNY! Each character is so unique and they're just a huge family. I just heard it got renewed for Season 4, so WAHOO!
- This Wrap-Front Dress by H&M+ is so beautiful.
- I am so excited because NYX Cosmetics is coming to Mall of America, and they are throwing a celebration weekend filled with prizes, bloggers and so much more. Of course, I will not be able to attend because I'll be in Chicago, but I know it's going to be a blast.
- Rainbow hairstyles that you can pull off even after Easter? SOMEDAY THIS WILL HAPPEN!
- The fairest of them all, indeed!
- Shop & Apparel finally released a limited-edition extended size collection on their site. I want this, this and this..
- Drew Barrymore is the cover girl for the Marie Claire April 2016 issue. She looks beyond gorgeous, like she does not age.
- Bonlook has some of the most beautiful glasses. Time for a new pair, yes?
- Can't get this song out of my head.

It's officially the very last Monday of 2015, and I'm extremely weirded out by this fact. What better way to get prepared for the upcoming new year, than with one more round up of links I've found interesting throughout the last week or so. Enjoy, and here's to even more of these next year!
- A new year obviously calls for a new calendar! I'm so torn between this one from Rifle Paper Co. or this one from Anthropologie. Which one would you choose?
- Adele on the cover of Time Magazine? Bow down to the queen!
- While I may not be doing anything for NYE, party wise, these festive cocktails from The Glitter Guide definitely have me wanting to stay home and make fun drinks!
- That one time where I actually felt like a model... I had to capture it.
- Reem Acra's Pre-Fall 2016 collection was moody and romantic, just the way I like it.
- This dress though!
- What an interesting read from Levo League, on how to unplug for 24 hours. I have no idea if I would be able to do that, but it's definitely something to try next year.
- Free People has their downloadable calendar up for next month! So pretty, and still so crazy to me that we'll be in another year.
- Can't. Get. This. Song. Out. Of. My. Head.
- This print by the FoxandWild shop on Etsy is beyond gorgeous. Need it in my life.
- Sweater Weather Braids is a real thing, and they're pretty great. Enjoy this tutorial by blogger Kassinka.

Here are some links to brighten your Monday!
- The QUEEN has come back into our lives! Adele performed her new song, "Hello" for the first time a few days ago!
- If you follow me on social, you might have seen a little question floating around. I'm in the process of starting my Holiday Gift Guide, and I want to know what YOU think I should put in the giveaway I'm doing. Look out on Wednesday for a sneak peek at who I will be gifting this year.
- The new Japanese Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer is all kinds of chill-inducing!
- Look at this Princess dress from ModCloth! Wowza.
- Just found out I might be able to get a new laptop for the holidays, and I'm so excited! I've been looking at this HP Laptop in blue!
- Nowhere near being in the holiday spirit, but these Gilded Leaves String Lights are so pretty!
- If you've never watched a Kristen Leanne video, I highly recommend starting with this one. It's about owning and purchasing Cruelty Free makeup from your local drugstores. This is really beneficial, and is a great way to incorporate doing something ethical into your daily life.
- One more Adele thing... Did anyone see her cover for Rolling Stone? How epic is this?!
- I am so ready for The Melt Shop to come to Mall of America next year! They're from New York and serve different versions of grilled cheese sandwiches. SO GOOD!
- How pretty is this wallpaper?!

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend was lovely and full of the new fall colors. Mine was particularly enjoyable as I went to the Renaissance Festival yesterday with my family. It's always a treat to step back in time to good food, fairies, mermaids and hand-crafted goods. There's a lot more to it than just those things, but they're some of my favorites! Make sure to look for a new Fashion Friday this week with some photos from the adventure. But for today, I hope you enjoy all these links below!
- Before anything, I have to link to this absolutely adorable sweater on ASOS that I am buying the instant I get paid this week. It literally has ghosts as elbow patches. GHOSTS, PEOPLE! Not only are they the cutest tiny ghosts, they're sequined. Sign me up!
- Minnesota Fashion Week might have ended, but Mall of America will be hosting a really awesome week full of fashion + art-related events that are mostly free to the general public. I'm really excited to be working during a lot of these, and to be able to see what they have to offer. To get the full details of when each event is happening, just click here!
- MOA also released their Fall Look Book for 2015, and it's full of fall fashion and style that you can find around the Mall.
- Need a new wallpaper for your phone or computer? ban.do has some of the cutest ones that you can download for free! I personally really enjoy this one right now.
- Have you been following along during Fashion Week with me? I've been sharing my favorite looks from the Spring 2016 RTW runways through all my social media! Make sure to continue along with me, using #mostlylisa(then whatever city is happening) to see what I'm liking. I can't wait until #PFW starts, the city hosts some of my favorite designers.
- I can't make a decision on what boots I want to get. Help me? These or these?!
- Lupita Nyong'o for Vogue October 2015? Yes, please!
- If you haven't participated in the #dubsmaswars2015 yet, I highly recommend you do! Hayley Atwell + James D'arcy of Agent Carter and Chloe Bennet + Clark Gregg of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D have been going head to head in a championship to win the Dubsmash War of 2015! I'm very much #TeamCarter, and I'm pretty excited to see who they pull to be in their final video round. WHO WILL WIN? Go watch the beginning of this on the website, and decide who you want to see succeed (even though they both will because of the money raised for their chosen charities) and be declared the victor!
- Finally I'm very happy it's fall now, and am so excited that it's going to be October soon!

Happy Monday, y'all! I hope you had a great weekend, and enjoyed yourselves. Here are some links to get your week started!
- This is so random, yet so insanely funny! I've watched it at least 15 times since Saturday. FYI: You will get the song stuck in your head.
- Boozy Ice Pops: DIY Pop-Tail Party from Influenster. YUM!
- Who doesn't want sticky notes to put in their planner, especially when they're THIS flippin' cute and inspiration?!
- ban.do just has the best items right now, and they're so aesthetically pleasing. I'm already planning for 2017 to be the coolest year yet, if I purchase this 17-month agenda planner.
- She has the coolest hair, is a great makeup/SFX artist and seems super chill. She's also currently in the running in the NYX Face Awards Challenge, with this Mermaid Tutorial by Kristen Leanne!
- Torrid hosted a casting call at the Mall of America on Saturday, and it was a blast! I attended, just to give it a shot and I think it was worth it. I got to meet some lovely ladies while waiting and I also met the current face, Georgina Burke! It was inspirational to see so many beautiful plus-size ladies all join together for something just as lovely.
- Chris Evans. New York City. Romance. SIGN ME UP!
- This is a backpack I could get behind, or well, in front of...
- A chocolate ice cream sandwich made with focaccia bread? WHOA.
- I do enjoy a good Flatlay Friday, especially from Minneshopolis!
- Anna Ewers by Patrick Demarchelier for Vogue China August 2015.

- Serena & Lily for Paperless Post = A GREAT IDEA
- Mackenzie Horan shared this delicious recipe for Strawberry Champagne and I'm in love. What a great idea for Fourth of July?!
- I've been working on making a blog post about a new store at Mall of America called Fjällräven for my job, and am now obsessing over their backpacks. They're called Kånken's and come in a variety of colors, how amazing is this?!
- Blake Lively is in Harper's Bazaar China next month, and she shot this gorgeous editorial!
- I'm not crying, you are!
- These DIY 4th of July cake toppers by Tell Love & Chocolate are so cute!
- It was my parent's 35th wedding anniversary yesterday, and I found a fantastic photo of their wedding. How pretty is my mom's dress?
- Levo League has updated their website, and it's so helpful! Find Your Purpose is something I will now be partaking in, and hoping it will help my career a little bit.
- If you've ever read The Secret Garden or saw the movie in the 90s, there is a new YouTube adaption called The Misselthwaite Archives and it's SO GOOD! They are currently in need of some funding to continue the adventure, but I'm crossing my fingers they will reach their goal.
- Can't get this song out of my head!
- Eventually this shirt will be mine, eventually..
- A Kate Spade 25% off sale? You can never say no to that, especially when it includes this purse.
- A Thing Created has some new prints up in her shop! I'm loving this Sun Hat & Palms one that comes in two different versions. xoxoxo

Here are few links to get your week started!
- Do you love Disney? Do you like to drink? Well, I have the perfect mix of both for you in the form of a YouTube series called #DrunkDisney! Performed by the great trio of Practical Folks, this series follows them as they go through each era of Disney movies and drink to a particular game for that week. They just hosted a live stream for Lilo & Stitch a couple weeks ago, and IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! They want to do another one, but need more subscribers! So I recommend going to check them out, and click that button after you watch one of their videos.
- This piece above by Lang Leav is speaking to me on so many levels.
- Do you think this dress is worth paying $63 for? I'm so torn on whether or not I should purchase it because it's so beautiful, but I don't want to pay that much money. I'm hoping it will go on sale soon!
- Anybody else watching Younger on TVLand? I'm obsessed with it, and we're only 4 episodes in! It's so refreshing, I can relate to it a lot and Sutton Foster has PERFECT comedic timing.
- How to Make the Most of Your Space by Caroline Wilder of The Everygirl
- This Kate Spade tote is super cute and it's 33% off!
- John Krasinski lip-synching to N*SYNC? My heart can't take it!
- Binge Reading Disorder by Nikkitha Bakshani of The Morning News. A very good, and true, read!
- At Home With article by This Is Glamorous. Holy wow, those photos. Can I live there?
- This has been my jam lately.
- A must buy: My Drunk Kitchen by Hannah Hart
